Route 66
So why Ricky’s Last Ride? One of mine and Ricky’s dreams was to ride the route 66 in America together. Something I thought would never happen now, that was however until I accidentally discovered a man called Richy from WildBadTouring.com.
USA 2016
It was then that I discovered that Richy was planning on a motorcycle trip/tour of the USA in October of this year and suggested that we could make it Ricky’s Last Ride.
Blood Bikes
Why not do this for Ricky’s passion, for his dream, for his legacy. To raise awareness of such a good cause and such a rewarding charity the “Blood Bikes” SERV.
What are Blood Bikers???
Motorcyclists
A blood bike is a motorcycle used to courier urgent and emergency medical items including blood, X-rays, samples, drugs, and documentation between hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Transport
In critical situations, blood or other medical items need to be delivered urgently between hospitals and health centres in order to save a patient's life.
Charity
Blood Bikes is a charitable organisation currently being established by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites.
Whilst we have managed to equal the target (truly truly amazing - THANK YOU) allowing purchase of a bike.
Bloodbikes is a FREE service to use by the NHS, this achieved by amazing volunteers who range from call operators to engagement managers to the riders themselves.
Unfortunately the fuel, tyres and other associated running costs is not free and your continued support is much appreciated.
